Sloshed Wilkinson denies Big Al bust up

Welton chairman Clive Wilkinson has denied that there is a rift between himself and Manager Al Taylor after Taylor branded Wilkinsons weekend antics irresponsible.

Taylor is said to have been outraged at reports that Wilkinson was out drinking until the early hours of Sunday morning in the same City centre bars that he is trying so hard to keep his players out of.

Taylor said in a statement: “I am shocked to my very core. I expected better from my chairman. We’ve all been working very hard over the last season to try and eradicate the booze culture from our Football Club then Clive goes out downing Jaeger Bombs in the middle of Lincoln.”

On lookers in Kind bar Lincoln claim to have seen Wilkinson drink 3 or 4 jaeger bombs whilst washing them down with several pints of guiness.

“He wasn’t holding back” said one witness.

The shamed chairman moved quickly to assure players, staff and supporters that the incident was a one off as he was out celebrating the engagement of his son Tom to Geordie Socialite Jenny Constable.

“I admit I acted irresponsibly.” Said Wilkinson

“I’ve apologised to everyone at the Club for my actions and I hope to draw a line under the incident now.”

“It’s a one off.”

“My antics should not be seen as an excuse for the players to feel that they can go out and drink as much as I did.”

“I’m not going to make excuses the evidence is their and I don’t have a leg to stand on.”

“I didn’t on Saturday either.” Inappropriately joked Wilkinson.
