Welton S&SC have reached an agreement with GE Rustons to sign forward Jason Tinkler in a deal reported to be worth £28.
The 24-year-old has agreed a five-year deal at Social Park.
Speaking to wsscfc.blogspot.com last night, Tinkler told the club's website:
“I want to help bring more success to Welton and win trophies for them.
“I almost joined two seasons ago but the timing just wasn’t right. I now feel that I have found a Club that I can spend the rest of my career at.”
“The game against us (Ge Rustons) last season summed everything up about Welton for me when they beat us 4-2 they seem like a great bunch of lads and they are a very good footballing side.”
“It will be great to link up with Scott (Coupland) and Luke (Clifford) again as I enjoyed some great times with them at Cherry Willingham.”
“I can’t wait to get the season underway and get playing football again.”
The fleet-footed Tinkler is comfortable on either wing and can play as a supporting striker.
A fee is yet to be confirmed for the player, who came through the youth ranks at Cherry Willingham under the watchful eye of Lee Coupland.
Weltons assistant boss Lee Coupland said: "I think that Jason is one of the best attacking footballers around, and I hope he will be a very important player for Welton.
"I am so pleased he is coming to us, I think he can make a big, big impact for Welton.
"we’re signing Jason, we are showing the world that we are bringing the best players here and that we hope to compete to win the Premier League.
"When players see what is happening at Welton and the ambition they are attracted to what we are building and want to be a part of it."
