The Socialites begin their quest for silverware on Sunday at Jerusalem in the first round of the County cup. Many people have been critical of Weltons Summer spending spree seeing 6 high profile players coming in to social Park.
However, Taylor, maintains the current crop have what it takes to get ahead of Adelaide and FSC Victory in the League and says every team in the Premier League has spent big this Summer.
"I believe we have a good chance. The most important thing is that we have that belief," he said.
"We finished second last season, so we have one stair to climb in the league and I am confident that we can do it even though I expect a much more open and competitive season."
“It’s true that pre season hasn’t gone as well as we would have hoped but we are improving all the time.”
“I am totally confident that my lads can raise their game to an appropriate level on Sunday.”
“Jerusalem are a great side though and it remains to be seen if us at our best can beat them at their best.”
“A win on Sunday will do our confidence the world of good, I expect it to be a great game and fingers crossed we will be smileing like wee were at Sincil Bank last season after beating them again.”
