Dynamo Varsity 9-1

Welton strolled through the first round of the County Cup with a comprehensive 9-1 demolition of Division 2 side Dynamo Varsity, A first half hat trick from Scott Coupland along with braces for Matt O Halloran and Billy Munro and a goal a piece for Craig Cosgrove and a collectors item from Will Carter completed the rowt.

Cowbit 5-1

Welton stormed their way into the last 16 of the County Cup with a stunning 5-1 win over Spalding based giants Cowbit. Matt O Halloran and Scott Coupland had given Welton a 2-0 lead at half time before Cowbit pulled one back at the start of the second half but further goals for O Halloran and Coupland aswell as a fifth from Luke Clifford sealed an impressive victory for the Socialites.

Deportivo Empire 7-2

Welton marched into the quarter finals of the County Cup with an emphatic 7-2 win against Deportivo Empire. Despite falling behind early on Welton stormed back with goals from Leigh Warman, Sam Allmond, 2 for Jason Tinkler and a Scott Coupland hat trick ensuring that The Socialites moved on to face the mighty Magnet Tavern.

Magnet Tavern quarter final 3-0

Welton turned in what Manager Al Taylor described as the best performance he had seen from a Welton side beating Spalding Champions and previous winners of the County Cup Magnet Tavern 3-0 at Social Park,

Two Scott Coupland Penalties either side of half time gave Welton a two goal lead before the Socilaites had to withstand a second half onslaught by a powerful Magnet side before Olly Furness brilliantly sealed the Socialites passage into the Semi finals to face Tap and Spile

Tap & Spile Semi final 4-2

Welton S&SC ensured they were once again the pride of Lincoln as the Socialites advanced to the County Cup final with an entertaining 4-2 win over Grimsby based Tap and Spile. Neil Stocks opened the scoring with twenty minutes on the clock, Minutes later Sam almond blasted home his first of the morning before Tap grabbed a lifeline with a scrappy goal to send the sides in at half time with the game finely poised at 2-1 to Welton.

Early second half nerves for Welton were calmed when Sam Allmond spectacularly grabbed his second of the morning on the hour mark, Allmond completed his hat trick before a stunning strike from the Tap left back with 5 minutes to go completed the scoring to set up Tuesday nights clash against the team that are widely regarded as the best side in Lincolnshire Seven Seas.
