Rob (The Lord) Newton
Made a brief apperance for the Social in the 04/05 promotion season when he came off the bench to play on the left wing against Heighington. This was to be Newtons first and last appearnce for the Club as he failed to impress the Welton management. Newton is now plying his trade as a centre back for shambolic division 5 side Trent Valley FC.
Other Ross
Another blast from the past. This player was signed on at Social Park in the summer of 04. He came with a big reputation and fitted the bill for what Big Al was looking for. He was Scottish and he claimed to be good. He was not! left midway through the season as his team mates turned on him, hasn't been seen since.
Ed
A suprising candidate. Signed on this past pre season for the reserve team, Many at Social Park tipped Ed to become a star ffor the first team. Ed was ommited from Dayleys first two team selections much to his annoyance. Has figured twice for the Reserves but rumours are rife that he has already played his last game for the club.
Scholesy
Famed for his tough tackling attitude at training, Scholesy never graced the hallowed turf of Social Park. Appeared mysteriously in the summer of o5 and trained in jeans and shoes. The cult hero turned down several loan moves away from Social Park, He has even had his own corner of the astroturf named after him. The corner of Doom! Scholesy hasn't been seen since the end of last season when he was asked not to attend training because several first team players were scared that he would injur them in an attempt to try and get in the starting eleven for the cup final. Will probably re appear at some point.
Ian (Fordy) Ford
Fell out of favour with management in the 04/05 season. Although Fordy had reasonable skill on the ball he was deemed too slow and unfit to make the team. Hasn't been seen since
Kenny Taylor
Made a handful of appearances most memorably in the infamous Wragby Cup game in 2006, Where Kenny came on and Rugby tackled centre forward Scott Lowman. The youngest of the Taylor brothers has since retired and he and his tough training regime will hopefully never be seen again.
Will (The Cat) Carter
Handed the freedom of Wragby for his howler in the Ron Eaglen Cup match of the 06/07 season when he was beaten by the opposition keeper. The Cat almost single handedly dumped Social out of the Ron Eaglen Cup two years running as his only other appearance saw Welton get thumped and humiliated 4 1 in the third round stage the season before at the hands of the lowly George and Dragon. The Cats less than impressive record reads played 2 lost 2 conceeded 8. The Cat has already used two of his nine lives and he is unlikely to get the chance to use up any more of them.
Mark (Droopsy) Brewer
Undoubtedly a Social Park legend both on and off the pitch but should of hung his silver boots up long ago. There are very few more amusing sights than seeing the ginger assasin trotting around Social Park. Believed to have played his last game for the Social though after a mysterious training ground incident at the start of this season may have cost Brewer his career. Brewer appeared to be shot in the leg seconds after attempting an ambitious crossfield pass with the outside of his famous right foot and has not kicked a ball in anger since.
