Carter aiming for fresh start

Defender Will Carter is relishing the chance to re-ignite his Welton career after a frustrating couple of months on the sidelines.

The 23-year-old found himself out of favour over the last few weeks and has had to settle for cameo appearances from the bench.

But Carter was recalled to the starting eleven last Sunday and after starring in the Premier League win over FVA Jerusalem, he is now hoping to cement his place in the side.

"I really enjoyed the game. Things did not go my way for a couple of months and I found myself out of the team" Carter told the Welton Evening Post.

"But football is a funny game and it can turn around pretty quickly. Now I am hoping I get more opportunities and we will take it from there.

"All that matters to me is that Welton win football matches and win trophies, Hopefully I can play a big part in that this season starting with Queen Bess on Sunday.”
