JOHNSON PROUD OF ACHIEVEMENTS AT SOCIAL PARK

It is not only in Lincolnshire where Welton’s successes are being celebrated this season. 115 miles Northwest of Social Park former squad member Will Johnson cannot help but display his pride in what has been achieved by his former team mates.

WSSCFC Blogspot caught up with Johnson, now an official forum impersonator, following Welton’s County Cup victory at the weekend.

“I could not be prouder of the lads” declared Johnson.

“Everything they have achieved this season, especially in the Cup competitions, is testament to the hardworking and passionate demeanour of those who wear the sacred blue and white strips, who manage the team and those who come and support their local hero’s week-after-week. Everything about the football club oozes success and now the team is delivering on that promise”.

As a devout subscriber to the WSSCFC website Johnson managed to watch the live stream of Sunday’s fixture and was more than impressed by what he saw.

“The football was very easy on the eye and some of the Welton attacks flowed quicker than I imagine the beer did in the Social afterwards”.

With some big names already out of this years County Cup competition Johnson sees no reason why Welton cannot dream of silverware:

“Why not?

The players and management are very thirsty for success and you can see it both in the way the boys play and how those instructing on the touchline kick every ball with them. Do not overlook the vociferous backing of the Social Park Ultras also, they make it very intimidating for the opposition and I would back Welton against anyone at home”.

Johnson will be in attendance on February 1st and cannot wait to see his former club in action.

“It would be an understatement to say I am excited about the game. Insiders at the club tell me that the game is heading for a sell-out and you can see why. I am looking forward to many elements of Welton’s play; the surging runs of T. Wilkinson, the composure of Dhindsa, the elegance of Coupland, the tenacity of Stocks, the full bloodedness of Taylor, the passion of the two Clifford’s, the vision of Gordon, the dynamicism of Carter, the power of Ronnie, the trickery of Bowey and of cause the pre-match goalmouth free-for-all”.

As Johnson stood over his 7 Welton caps placed in his bare trophy cabinet it was clear how disappointed he was his career never got going. But despite this upset Johnson will be hoping to join in any celebrations should the club pick up any silverware this season.
