Pacey: It wasn’t me!

Shocking headlines on the front page of todays Echo appear to show that Pacey Taylor son of Welton manager Big Al Taylor has been convicted of a 1 million pound cashpoint raid.

Taylor pictured bottom left insists it is a case of mistaken identity and denies any wrong doing.

“It doesn’t look good for me I must admit, But somehow I have been framed.”

A lengthy spell of porridge could be one possible reason why Pacey has abandoned his post as bonus points awarder?

Questions have been raised in recent weeks about how Welton raised the cash to sign new centre back Jamie Chesman, A signing that has come completely out of the blue after a sudden influx of cash was pumped into the village side from an unknown Scottish supporter. If this is the case then this could put Weltons quadruple bid in all sorts of problems.

Clive Wilkinson Weltons chairman and former pub navigator moved quickly to disassociate the club with the disgraced Scot.

“I know people are questioning the signing of Chesy and in particular where the funds came from, but I can guarantee that their was no ‘dirty’ money involved in the transfer.”

“Whether Pacey was involved in this crime or not is no concern of the football club as he is not a registered player.”

“I hope that this does not effect our reputation in the footballing world as I am sure that many teams from Lincoln probably have escaped convicts playing for them anyway.”

“I would also like to add that this does not effect Al’s position as manager.”

Welton forward James Drabble was shocked at the newspaper allegations against Taylor.

“I cant believe it.” Drabble told the Welton news.

“I think they must have the wrong guy because Pace is not that sort of lad.”

“I know with the credit crunch times must be hard for shop owners but I don’t think he would ever turn to armed robbery.”

“I’m sure the incident will blow over and all this will have been a huge mistake and we’ll all have a good laugh about it in the club on Sunday.”
